Karoline Bottheim

Consulting & Facilitation Expert, Author

For over 15 years, Karoline Bottheim and Anna Zingmark have been exploring and developing the core competencies behind multi-stakeholder collaboration — one of the most complex and challenging forms of collaboration. They combine practical methods, theory, and research from multiple fields to create effective, adaptable models that are now used across numerous initiatives in the public, private, and civic sectors.

During this time, they have trained thousands of professionals in Sweden and across the Nordic countries, developing “collaboration managers” capable of leading collaborative processes between organizations, institutions, communities, and diverse stakeholders. They are the authors of four books and the hosts of the Art of Collaborating podcast, a go-to reference for those working in complex systems.

Session topic:
“Success Factors in How to Succeed in Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration” Karoline and Anna will explore the essential factors that drive success in multi-stakeholder collaboration — a process that requires a very different set of skills than traditional project management or internal leadership. They will highlight what truly makes a multi-stakeholder initiative work: clear methods, process-fit structures, well-defined roles, thoughtful facilitation, and a deep understanding of the dynamics between the parties involved.
